You as a parent will always make sure that your children have clothes, are fed, get sleep, and have shelter. (1 Timothy 5:8) But one day they suddenly start asking you if you're going to give them food to eat, and if they'll have clothes to wear. You say "Yes, of course, little one!" And the next day they ask again about their food, and clothing, and shelter. You say "Yes, Of Course, Absolutely!" And the next day they ask the same thing. You say, a little louder, "Why, YES, Of Course, Absolutely, for Sure!" (Matthew 7:11) And the next day they ask the same thing. And you realize that they are questioning your character and ability, in this case to provide for them appropriately. Knowing that your track record has never missed the mark any day of their life, this time your answer to your children is one of a question; "What is it that causes you to question my ability to provide for you?"
